Answers to your questions

What is cellulite?

The term “cellulite” refers to the dimpled appearance of the skin, generally on the hips, thighs and buttocks. Cellulite is due to any number of reasons; age, genetics and hormonal changes being the most common.  It is estimated that 80%-90% of post-adolescent women have reduced circulation under the skin. Contrary to popular belief, cellulite is not linked to obesity because it can also affect slim women.

Cellulite causes fluids and toxins to become immobilized, cutting off fat cells from nutrition and waste removal. Fat cells then become engorged, swell up and push up the skin. That is what we call “orange peel” and “dimple” looking skin!

Is there a treatment available for cellulite?

Yes.  In addition to being non-invasive and painless, Endermologie is a technique that was created and developed in France over 25 years ago and is recognized worldwide. The Endermologie technology (by LPG Systems) is the first recognized natural solution to improve the appearance of cellulite by breaking down fat, improving skin quality and boosting blood circulation.

Why does cellulite affect women and not men?

Cellulite is directly related to feminine hormonal fluctuations. Furthermore, men have a different genetic composition of the connective tissue than women. They store less hypodermal fat and have higher metabolic rates.

What is Endermologie?

Endermologie is a mechanized technique (by LPG Systems), combining regulated suction and two rollers to symmetrically and rhythmically, fold and unfold the skin. The controlled aspiration gently lifts up and kneads the skin to deeply massage the targeted area, resulting in improved blood flow and lymphatic drainage, as well as removing fat, firming skin, smoothing cellulite and reshaping the body.

Does diet and exercise get rid of cellulite?

No. Because cellulite is a complex problem, it must be addressed from the subcutaneous layer to act on fluid retention. Both diet and exercise affect deep fat; they fail to act on the underlying cause of cellulite in the superficial tissues of your skin. Every woman who exercises regularly and follows a low fat diet may still have cellulite.

What is the difference between Endermologie and other methods?

The results of Endermologie are supported by many researches and scientific publications worldwide. It is the only natural and recognized treatment by sanitary organizations in the USA and in Europe.

Can liposuction reduce cellulite?

Liposuction targets steatomeric and parallel fat, thus enabling to reshape the body. It removes excess fat but does not improve the skin quality. Endermologie treatments are recommended to pre and post-liposuction patients because it speeds healing quickly and significantly reduces swelling and helps tone and smooth the skin, while contouring the body.

How long does an Endermologie session last?

Each sessions lasts 45 minutes and it should be performed at least twice a week, until the desired result is achieved, which can take between 20 to 30 sessions. After the initial treatment period, monthly maintenance sessions will ensure durable results.

Can men also benefit from Endermologie treatments?

Even though men do not develop cellulite, they can still benefit from Endermologie treatments to resculpt their body (stomach, “love handles”, etc.) and improve aging skin and sports performances.

What can Endermologie do for athletes?

Endermologie is recognized to help performance and physical recuperation by:

  • boosting and activating blood circulation around the muscles and tendons
  • draining and detoxifying tissues, limiting muscular fatigue due to intense training
  • improving muscular response
  • reconditioning the connective tissue, helping achieve a greater range of motion

Does it hurt?

Not at all.  Endermologie is like a deep massage and is very relaxing. It is very important to inform the technician if you feel discomfort during your treatment and she will adjust the Cellu M6 machine to your comfort.
